Gavin's Sensory Jar - Super Neat Project

This is probably the most fun Gavin has had with any of the crafts we've done!

I took an old peanut butter jar and ran it through the dish washer

I added water and oil

and we just put a bunch of buttons, balls, sequence, ribbon and dice in it.

Gavin had so much fun dropping the stuff in and watching it sink to the bottom

Then I hot glued the lid on to the jar.

Gavin was very upset with this step lol, he wanted to continue putting stuff in there but the water/oil were starting to overflow because of the overload of objects Gavin put in there.

Another Duck Craft

Today is our last day of Duck week!

So we made another craft

I got some feathers from Walmart and Gavin pasted it on the drawing of the duck

Here's his masterpiece!

He had so much fun with the feathers

Today is about the Letter "L"

Today in Home School we introduced the Letter "L".

We started off by just coloring a printout of the letter.

Then we traced the letter with our finger using white paint (our color this week)

Then we made a Lion out of the letter "L".

Then we went and found the Letter "L" in books, signs, cereal boxes, etc... : )

And Gavin can say "L"!!!

We Went Potty!

Oh I'm sooooo proud of Gavin!  He went potty in his chair this morning!

I'm so excited because normally he'll go every now and then right before bath time, but it's more like he will stand anywhere in the house and start peeing on the floor and I rush and grab his potty and put it infront of his stream lol.  (that counts right? lol)

So this morning, after I'm changing his diaper, I ask him if he needs to go potty, and he said yes, so I took him to the bathroom and I went potty with him, he runs away from the potty and shuts the door.  Then he opens the door runs infront of his potty and goes in his chair (standing up!).

YAY! YAY! YAY!

So we added another sticker to his potty chart, and he's celebrating with a lollipop!

I normally give him one piece of fruit snack, but I think this occasion earned him a whole lollipop <3

(sorry for the bad pic, I didn't have my good camera near by and had to use my phone, lol)

and so far he has not pooped yet in his potty.  But he does tell me "poo poo" after he goes in his diaper!

We're making great progress!

Duck Craft!

Continuing with our Duck theme this week, we made a duck craft!

I just cut out a whole bunch of strips of tissue paper and we pasted them to the paper!

Love it!!

Quack Quack!!!

Feeding the Ducks

Found a great place for Gavin to feed the ducks!

They came running towards us as soon as we got there.

We fed the ducks some bread and then just relaxed and watched the ducks swim

Then Gavin had fun throwing rocks into the lake.
